Over its lifespan, the Gusola Block building was used for a variety of purposes. In 2007, it was re-imagined to accommodate residential apartments, a fine dining establishment and boutique retail spaces.
Tectonica was retained by Davis Capital to manage all aspects of this considerable undertaking from design and construction to financing and permitting, all while ensuring that this unique building was modified in strict accordance with Heritage Alteration stipulations.
This 6,000 square foot heritage building has since become a charming centrepiece for the downtown core and earned Tectonica a City of Nanaimo Best Heritage Rehabilitation Award and a VIREB Award for Best Renovation.
