Coastland Wood Industries Ltd.
Located at 751 Haliburton Street in Nanaimo, BC, this project provides Coastland Wood Industries, a Nanaimo-based value-added wood products company, with a purpose-built office space complete with ancillary spaces and community resource spaces. Previously a utilitarian light industrial structure, the redevelopment program for this building included a complete exterior façade upgrade, a seismic upgrade, and a complete renovation of the interior spaces to Class A office space.
Tectonica led a team that successfully navigated the City approval processes and challenges associated with such a significant renovation of an existing building. By finding a way to successfully adapt the existing building to a new use and extended life cycle, Tectonica and their team members created a project that blended design and sustainability seamlessly.
Tectonica Management Inc. provided Project Management and Construction Management services to construct this project. In this capacity, Tectonica assumed responsibility for managing the architectural and engineering consultants, all sub-trades, suppliers, and liaised with the City of Nanaimo on all approval matters.
