Located at 2094 Peninsula Road in Ucluelet, this project involved the construction of a new two-storey, 10,800 square foot wood-framed Health Centre to be leased to Island Health upon completion. The facility was designed to support comprehensive healthcare services for the region and includes clinical spaces, consultation and counselling rooms, a phlebotomy lab, reception and waiting areas, offices, and staff amenities.

The site’s steep grade and West Coast location presented unique construction challenges. Extensive geotechnical reinforcement and the installation of retaining walls were required to establish a stable building platform. Construction took place between early 2024 and summer 2025 and required careful coordination to navigate site logistics, weather conditions, and access constraints. Emphasis was placed on durable materials, high-quality workmanship, and the delivery of a modern, functional healthcare facility suited to the coastal environment.

Work completed during construction included:

• Site clearing, excavation, and base preparations
• Construction of retaining walls to support the sloped site conditions
• Installation of underground servicing and utility connections
• Construction of a two-storey wood-framed healthcare facility
• Full building envelope installation and interior fit-out
• Installation of mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems
• Development of on-site parking, accessibility features, and site finishes
